Kitchen Remodeling: Design Trends To Look For In 2021
Kitchen and Bath World of Albany is highly regarded for delivering the Capital Region’s most beautiful kitchens and baths. The area’s largest kitchen and bath design house and remodeling showroom recently completed a full renovation of its tri-level 13,000 sq. ft retail space that features more than 60 kitchen and bath displays. “With so many new cabinets, tile, flooring, hardware, and appliance options offered today it is important that KBW designers have the resources for our clientele to explore during the beginning of the design process,” said Kitchen & Bath World President, Sara Bovee. Whether it’s a clever twist on old appliance design or the look and feel of today’s hottest materials Sara says her showroom must always inspire and excite customers to achieve that timeless design and quality renovation.
Below, Sara and I discussed the hot new trends in kitchen design.
COLOR
Monochromatic color schemes take a back seat in favor of unexpected paint-color pairings. From appliances and flooring to window treatments and cabinets, Kitchens are the perfect canvas for color. Sara recommends deciding how much of a commitment you are willing to make to a bold color. One of the least expensive options is to paint a wall that can be easily updated should you tire of it. Color is a personal preference – look for a color that makes you feel good, she advised.
PANTRIES
Pantry cupboards have been a staple in kitchen design for centuries and are specifically designed to store and organize food. Sara says for homes without a walk-in pantry, integrating rollouts and other internal cabinetry components inside a pantry cabinet can capture as much or more storage space than in a walk-in pantry, even if it’s smaller in size.
DOUBLE ISLANDS
With larger kitchens on-trend, especially in open floor plans, the kitchen island has become an essential feature. But a pair of islands has become the latest in luxury. Sara explained how new luxuries are within reach when working with Kitchen and Bath World. One of the benefits of working with Kitchen and Bath World is that our approach to remodeling is full-service. If a client’s design objectives require demolition and rebuilding of their homes’ floorplan that is well within our remodeling and installation teams’ skills.
CURATED DESIGN
The Kitchen and Bath World showroom is a destination for inspiration but the comfort of personal treasures and nostalgia for display has inspired a growing demand for kitchens designed for that “curated look.” Thoughtfully designed, these rich visual spaces are carefully styled with a homeowner’s artwork, family heirlooms, cookbooks, and other curiosities, to achieve an exquisite lived-in look that feels like home.
